National year of reading 2026 has got of to a brilliant start here at VIPS Aylesford. Thomas in Yr 6 has completed his 'read your height' challenge and we are so very proud of him. We always knew he was an avid reader but this is an incredible achievement. Well done Thomas!

Year 2 loved their learning launch for Science and English. They went outside and completed their own Spogomi challenge which is a new sport of competitive litter picking.

Year 5 enjoyed their Space Topic Learning Launch yesterday. They 'enjoyed' space food, designed and made rockets and are now really looking forward to building on their knowledge for the rest of the term.

As a school we have been raising awareness of diabetes today. We all found it interesting to learn about the challenges faced by children and adults and will be trying to remember a fact that we learnt in assembly to tell our adults at home this evening.

Fractured Fairy Tales Finalist!

A few weeks ago, Valley Invicta Academies Trust (VIAT) launched a ‘Fractured Fairy Tales’ competition for students across all its nine schools.

The idea was inspired when students from the School of Science and Technology Maidstone (SST) were set a task to write their own 200 word story which took a classic fairy tale and added a twist, changed characters, or made it more modern.

We are delighted that our pupil, Camron, is one of five finalists in the Primary Category!

The winner from each category will be chosen after the Easter holidays, by VIAT's CEO, Julie Derrick, and will receive a prize of a £25 Waterstones gift card for their brilliant efforts!
