Eco Warriors

Each academic year, children are chosen from each class to join the School Eco Council. They are known as Aylesford’s Eco warriors! The Eco council are the children’s voice for making changes that will have a positive impact on the environment.

It is an exciting time for the Eco council, as they begin their journey with the  Eco-Schools programme which globally engages 19.5 million children across 67 countries, making it the largest educational programme on the planet.

Eco-Schools develops pupils’ skills, raises environmental awareness, improves the school environment and creates financial savings for schools as well as a whole host of other benefits.

The Eco council are currently conducting surveys throughout the school to identify what the school is already doing to help the environment and to also gather information of areas that could be developed. Their surveys and action plans will help to raise environmental awareness and via a step by step programme, the Eco Council are working towards achieving the Eco Schools Bronze Award.
